Welcome to the third edition of Aioli, the newsletter to help you understand and apply AI to your daily life!
Something to keep in mind: None of the AI tools come with instructions. You just need to use them to figure it out. That’s why the best way to learn AI is to use AI for everything (where you legally and ethically can). What you need to know about the AI conference happening in San Jose this week

Source: NVIDIA
You may recognize the name “NVIDIA” because their stock has skyrocketed 260% in the past couple of months. They are an AI chip company led by Jensen Huang, the “Taylor Swift of AI”. At their flagship conference in San Jose this week, he announced a new AI superchip called Blackwell that he says is destined to become “the engine of the new industrial revolution.”
So what’s the big deal? Huang claimed that in the past 8 years, the computing power on Nvidia’s chips has shot up by 1,000X. Check out the chart in the image above to see just how great of a leap that is in computing power. More computing power = faster speed, solves more complex problems, more AI. The floodgates are officially open.

Excel Formula Expert
I had to try out the free prompt library for myself. So much inspiration packed in the hundreds of prompts there! I picked out the “Excel Forumla Expert” which promised to “Create Excel formulas based on user-described calculations or data manipulations.”
I took an Excel class in college, and it was one of the most demanding yet rewarding courses I took. Turns out I didn’t need to take it, because I can just use AI to write formulas for me now. Well, I’m still grateful for the operational understanding. Here’s how you can become an Excel pro too…
Copy and Paste The Prompt:
As an Excel Formula Expert, your task is to provide advanced Excel formulas that perform the complex calculations or data manipulations described by the user. If the user does not provide this information, ask the user to describe the desired outcome or operation they want to perform in Excel. Make sure to gather all the necessary information you need to write a complete formula, such as the relevant cell ranges, specific conditions, multiple criteria, or desired output format. Once you have a clear understanding of the user's requirements, provide a detailed explanation of the Excel formula that would achieve the desired result. Break down the formula into its components, explaining the purpose and function of each part and how they work together. Additionally, provide any necessary context or tips for using the formula effectively within an Excel worksheet.
Then, ask what you are trying to achieve in Excel:
I need a column of dates for every Sunday in 2024 from
June through October.
Here are the results:

It also gave me a breakdown of the formula, and how to enter it into Excel. Pretty handy!
