I was featured on Business Insider!

For the first formal edition of Aioli, I had to include my feature in Business Insider! This is probably the reason you are reading this now, and for that I’m grateful.

The Backstory: I was approached by the reporter after my photo carousel went viral on Tik Tok (815k views and counting!) for how I use ChatGPT to make recipes by using all of my pantry/fridge contents to waste less at home.

💼 CHATGPT USE CASE OF THE WEEK

🌸 Spring is coming! Use ChatGPT for Personalized Garden Planning Based On Your USDA Plant Hardiness Zone

In case you’re unfamiliar, hardiness zones are ”the standard by which gardeners and growers can determine which perennial plants are most likely to thrive at a location”. The USDA just updated them for the first time in 10 years! Think of them as climate zones sorted by how cold it gets, helping you pick plants that won't throw in the towel after the first frost.

I created a custom GPT called Garden Guru to dish out advice tailored to your zone. Here’s an example below of results specific to San Antonio, Texas.

The Prompt (feel free to copy and paste this right into ChatGPT, replacing your location and the plants you want to grow):

Create a garden plan in a tabular format. I'm in USDA Hardiness Zone 8b. I'm interested in growing tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and watermelons. I need to know the best varieties for my area, their planting methods, recommended spacing, the orientation of rows or beds for optimal sunlight, any companion plants that would benefit these crops, and any special notes or tips for care. Include considerations for soil type, watering needs, and pest management. I'm aiming for a balance between productivity and ease of maintenance.

The Output:

If you’d like to test out Garden Guru, my custom GPT, it is free for use if you are a ChatGPT Plus subscriber. Otherwise, you can still use the free version of ChatGPT to get a similar result with the prompt I provided above (but you will not be able to access the Garden Guru GPT). Just make sure to give ChatGPT as much context as possible, such as what zone you’re in, what you want to plant, etc. Email me if you run into any issues!

🛠️ TOOLS

3 AI Tools That You Should Try Out

ChatGPT: If you aren’t using this tool often (everyday, in my case), it’s time to start. My grandpa even uses it, c’mon! It can unlock some serious potential for your productivity, or otherwise enhance your life. If you aren’t sure where to start, read my blog post, ChatGPT for Ultimate Beginners

Perplexity AI: This is similar to ChatGPT, but it provides sources and links to the information it uses.

Fathom AI: The best virtual meeting notetaker you will ever use. Never take notes on a video call again. This has given me better insights post-meeting than my brain can process during a meeting. Plus, it provides action items and assigns them to the respective attendees of the call.

All of these tools are free to use!

Protect Your Content with Hidden AI Prompts

As governments grapple with regulating AI and addressing intellectual property challenges amidst rapid technological advancements, I've come across one proactive strategy to protect your digital work now. The solution could be in hidden prompts. See how it works, with an example that you can use, in my latest blog post.
